Global and Local Outreach

"Go therefore and make disciples of all nations..." (Matthew 28:19)

Myrtle Grove’s Global and Local Outreach exists to help our church family serve Christ faithfully both near and far.

Global Outreach

Our global outreach connects Myrtle Grove to the work of Christ across cultures and communities beyond Wilmington. Through prayer, support, sending, and partnership, we seek to strengthen missionaries and ministries that are advancing the gospel around the world. Unreached People Groups to which we send our people and support: Aringa People in Uganda, and Punjabi People in Pakistan. Other ministries to which we send our people and support: Bible Translation; Timothy Two Project International; Betel International; Ministry to Educate and Equip; MissionGO Dental Clinic; Greater Europe Mission; Middle East Mission; Gospel Outdoors; and Youth With a Mission.

Local and Regional Outreach

Our local and regional outreach focuses on serving people in Wilmington and other parts of North Carolina with compassion and consistency. We look for ways to build relationships, meet practical needs, and share the hope of Christ in our community. Ministries in which we participate and support: Vigilant Hope; Ratio Christi; Life Line Pregnancy Center; UNC Wilmington International Students; Storehouse Ministry;  Thanksgiving Day Ministry; and hurricane recovery in Wilmington after Florence (2018) and Swannanoa, NC after Helene (2024). 

Ways to Participate

  • Pray! Pray regularly for global partners and local ministries. Participate in the Missions Prayer Gathering on the 2nd Sunday of the month.

  • Learn! Deepen your understanding of God's heart for all nations, tribes, and tongues. Participate in an online Kairos course.
  • Care! Encourage and support missionaries by sending emails, cards and care packages.
  • Serve! Serve with and support our local ministries.
  • Go! Participate in a short-term mission or long-term with one of the ministries above.
